Let me tell you a recipe. 1 tbsp of poverty, a glass of dissatisfaction, a pinch of greed, a spoonful of desire for shortcut and a gravy of various other negative aspects of society. I'm sure you must have guessed it by now. It's the recipe for the dish of corruption.
The other day I came across an educated person who simply in order to take a shortcut and get a B.Ed degree gave Rs.10,000 extra to the university and guess what? He was exempted from being regularly present to the university and also assured good percentage in exams. Normally, we get to hear about different incidents related to corruption but it's the first time I had someone right in front of my eyes who had done such a thing and was easily accepting it without any sense of guilt.
That's the reason why I felt like writing about corruption. We often blame "them" and claim
ourselves to be innocent when asked what is the real cause of corruption. Here, "them" refers to politicians, government officials or any other person in the entire universe EXCEPT us! So, it's time to stop the blame game now. Accusing each other, fighting or merely preaching won’t lead us anywhere. According to some cynical people the evil of corruption is extremely powerful and cannot be eradicated easily. Nevertheless, we are the youth of this nation. We can eradicate this evil through our optimism, honesty, dedication, hard work and want of justice. If Indians can successfully carry out the exploration on Mars then removing the roots of corruption is going to be a piece of cake. We need to put on our armour and get into the battlefield with this demon. As it is rightly said that "Action speak louder than words." The foremost way in which corruption can be demolished is by restricting our own self from indulging into any such kind of dirty tricks. Morever, when we come across any such kind of situation we need to act. For my part I made sure to let that person know that he/she had made a very big blunder. Furthermore, I also played my part by sharing this with you people and spreading awareness.
