“Khete hai agar kisi cheez ko dil se chaho …To puri kainaat use tumse milane ki koshish mei lag jaati hai”
So, how many SRK fans here? Every once in a while we all go wild for that one ‘jalak’ of our favourite celebrities, don’t we? But what when someone tells us that they’ve taken up ‘Humanities.’ We act as if they’ve started inhaling carbon dioxide instead of oxygen! This is ironical , isn’t it? “Acting” itself is a part of Humanities stream!
Ever since I’ve taken up humanities, I’ve come across a lot many amusing comments like , “Ohmigod! Why Humanities ya? You were so intelligent?” or something like ,”Group A or Group B?” and when I break the news that I’ve taken up arts they are shocked out of their minds. Seriously, the facial expressions are worth watching..
For all those who criticize humanities, I request you to take a break and think for yourself….What would life be without entertainment? Won’t the cricket matches be boring without a commentator? And the best of all is…You would be living in 19th century if it weren’t for news reporters !
Do we ever wish to get a ‘jalak’ of any doctor? Heck, we don’t even have any such thing as favourite doctor. Moreover, the very mention of a doctor makes most of us flee. How many of us admire Mr.Amitabh Bacchan , Harsha Bhogle, MF Hussain etc. There won’t be a person in India who isn’t familiar with these name. But how many of you are familiar with the five best C.As of your town..Hardly any. See there lies the difference. Not everyone is good with physics or biology but at the same time not everyone requires these subjects to achieve greatness in life. This does not mean that I’ve got any grudges against the commerce or science students. All I want people to realise is that “Humanities” is not associated with “loosers,” instead it is for those who have the courage to travel the path less travelled.
“Science is what the society aspires,
Humanities is what my heart desires”
